Short version: DualPlay operates entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. No accounts. No servers. No tracking. Your music stays yours.

Who We Are

DualPlay is a music player application developed by SGSInfotech. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle (or rather, do not handle) your information when you use the DualPlay app on Android.

Information We Collect

We collect no personal information whatsoever. DualPlay does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal details.

The app reads audio files and their metadata (title, artist, album, album artwork, genre, duration) stored on your device solely to display them within the app. This data never leaves your device.

Device Permissions

DualPlay requests the following Android permissions, all of which are used exclusively on-device:

READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

Required to scan and play music files stored on your device. Without this permission the app cannot function.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE / WAKE_LOCK

Required to keep music playing reliably in the background while you use other apps.

No permission is used for analytics, or data collection.

Data Storage

DualPlay stores the following data locally on your device only, using Android's SharedPreferences and local storage:

Your playlists and playlist contents
Podcast playback positions (so you can resume where you left off)
Podcast bookmarks you create
App preferences: dark mode setting, crossfade duration, gapless playback toggle, playback speed
Sleep timer preferences

All of this data remains entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

Internet Access

DualPlay does not require or use an internet connection. The app has no networking code and makes no outbound connections. There are no analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or third-party data services integrated into the app.

Third-Party Services

DualPlay uses the following open-source Flutter libraries, all of which operate entirely on-device:

just_audio — local audio playback
on_audio_query — reading device music library
metadata_god — reading audio file tags
audio_session — managing audio focus
shared_preferences — local preference storage
permission_handler — requesting device permissions

None of these libraries transmit data to external servers.

Children's Privacy

DualPlay does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is safe for all age groups in terms of data privacy.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Any future version of DualPlay that introduces data collection will be accompanied by a prominent notice and an updated policy before the update reaches users.
